Drafters: Description: The problem is that the internal Romulan political issues in the wake of the withdrawal of the Locusta, the subsequent deunification of the Vulcans, and internal conflict, has not been dealt with in game play. We have, on occasion, dealt with a very broad view of the Romulans, but not any specifics, and certainly nothing of the magnitude that needs to be dealt with. Solution: I propose that the council authorize a plot-line that would introduce a Romulan Civil War, the potential for dramatic use of such an event would allow several ships, and captains an opportunity to delve into the political infrastructure of a race, which to this day remains a relative mystery. In addition to this development, there is also a chance that actions we complete could lead to eventual peace between the Romulans and the Federation. Pros: The major advantage is to define and expand upon the definition of the Romulans, to give them the three dimensional understanding that many received of the Cardassians from the Dominion War on Deep Space Nine. Cons: There is a significant potential, if opened to fleet wide use, for grandstanding and possibly misusing the Romulans. One could conceivably see a crew ending the conflict in days when it should take months, or even years to play out. Votes: Outcome: Passed, Closed. |
