a) Drafter: Stefan Palan, CO USS SUTTNER b) Description of Problem During our current mission it was revealed that the SUTTNER carried an undercover agent from Starfleet Intelligence, who had been going by the persona of aCEO Lt. Quelok, while in fact he was Cdr. in Intel. While first revealing his identity only to the CO, it was later necessary to inform the whole senior staff of the Ferengi's real role aboard. In some posts during the mission, it became apparent that Quelok was to remain aboard for the future. c) Solution The suggestion is to add the position of Intelligence Officer to the SUTTNER's crew roster. I'd like to keep that post an NPC unless an experienced active player wishes to create a second character or wishes to change his primary character, since I think an Intelligence Officer post is not suitable for a fresh graduate. d) Pros and Cons Pros: The position was established in posts and would be hard to remove and I think one more NPC wouldn't be causing any problems, whereas sometime in the future an older (in terms of FRPG membership) player could be quite happy to play an Intel Officer. Furthermore, since the SUTTNER plays a vital role in the Borg/Fed relationship and gets to places in the galaxy no other Starfleet ship goes, it would seem logical to have a representative of Intel aboard, whether undercover or not. And as a last point, Quelok was vital in finding a Romulan saboteur aboard, a reason why I think the Senior Staff would want him to remain aboard. Cons: I don't really see a any. It adds another position to our crew roster, but that's about it. Votes: Outcome: Passed/Closed |
