The following is the wording of the person who submitted the resolution - the open slots may not be up-to-date anymore, since the resolution was filed a few weeks ago: I think, even though we are a few months away from it, we need to discuss opening a new ship. I can insure you that the 'paperwork' will fill a lot of the new COs time until it does launch. We are quickly filling the 'assistant' slots and the likelihood of 'all' the Senior slots coming open for the ships is slime to none. We have two open Assistant Counselor slots, and two open Assistant Sec/Tac officer slots. That could occur as quickly as two more ACT classes. Once they are full then we will be in a predicament. If we open a new ship, or plan to, then we can curb the tide fro the time being. That will automatically add and open Assistant slot as well as an open full slot. Otherwise we need to be looking at the Senior/Junior Officers and 'trimming the fat'. This resolution is twofold and I hope we can have a short discussion upon the first part and then, if that one should be approved, move on to the second. RES 0040a: Do we want to open a new RP unit soon> RES 0040b: Stefan Palan as the next CO of an RP unit. (Note: this does not mean he had to be the CO of the next RP ship, simply that when we start shuffling COs that he be a CO...) RES 0040 c: That details of a new vessel be tabled until a committee chaired by David Wells can formulate a more solid design concept for the 'non-Federation' vessel.
