Resolution 2003-06: Guidelines for Player Assignment

The Cadet Evaluation Form and ACT Instrutor Manuel will be amended to reaffirm and include the following:

1. Each graduating ACT cadet is required to provide two positions he/she would like to fill. Failure to provide *two* choices could result in said cadet being assigned to any position in the fleet. If a cadet wishes to request assignment to a particular unit (which is optional), he/she must specify at least *two* units which he/she would like to be assigned to as the COO must provide for balance and cannot always match the request for assignment to a specific unit.

2. Returning players will be given no preferential treatment in their assignments.
A. Returning players cannot be guaranteed a particular position or assignment on their return, even in the event that he/she will not return unless guaranteed assignment to a particular unit. Every effort will be made to accomodate returning players and preferences, but the overall good of the FRPG and individual units takes precedent over a returning player.
B. On a case-by-case basis, returning players may discuss with the COO, DACT, and the CO of the unit to which he/she wants to be assigned about securing such a position upon graduating from ACT. COs will therefore understand that if a returning player is to be assigned to his/her unit, that they will receive one less from among the rest of the graduating cadets. COO is to be involved in order to maintain the balance and interests of the fleet, and the DACT to carry on the decision to the ACT department.

3. COs may request specific cadets, but there are no guarantees as to final assignments. Final assignments rest with the Chief of Operations.

4. It is recommended that when requesting cadets from an ACT class, COs keep in mind the rest of the fleet and request only one or two cadets. Three cadet requests is to be considered the maximum number of cadets that will be assigned to a unit from one class.

5. Assignments will be made based upon the requests of graduating cadets, "skills" of the cadet characters, number of active writers per ship, and general need of the fleet.

6. The previous five points will be repackaged into something resembling the ACTi Manual, perhaps "ACT Assignment Guide."
